What Makes Ride1Up Turris a Powerful E bike?
Motor and Power
The Ride1Up Turris is equipped with a 750W Shengyi geared hub-motor. This motor sits inside the bike’s rear wheel and is capable of propelling the bike to a top speed of 28 mph.
Even with such a powerful motor, the Ride1Up Turris is still one of the most affordable electric bikes on the market. In fact, you’re probably not going to find another Class 3 e-bike that costs under $1300.
Range
The Ride1Up Turris comes with a 48V 12.8Ah Reention lithium-ion battery that guarantees up to 45 miles (72km) of range on a single charge. Using just throttle, we were able to cover about 23 miles (37 km) before completely draining the battery.
Riders should be able to get double that if they limit motor assistance to the minimum (say PAS level 1).
Speed
As stated earlier, the Ride1Up Turris operates as a Class 3 electric bike which means that it is capable of reaching a top pedal-assisted speed of 28 mph (45 kmh). Throttle-only mode is limited to a max speed of 20 miles an hour, however, we were able to clock about 21 mph before the speed governor cut power to the motor.
The report below outlines the Turris’ top pedal-assisted speed at every PAS level. Keep in mind that each speed test was carried out by a 160-pound rider pedaling at a leisurely cadence.
- PAS Level 1: 11 mph (18 kmh)
- PAS Level 2: 13-14 mph (21 kmh – 23 kmh)
- PAS Level 3: 16-18 mph (26 kmh – 29 kmh)
- PAS Level 4: 21 mph (34 kmh)
- PAS Level 5: 28 mph (48 kmh)
Ride Smoothness
If you’re in the market for a versatile commuter electric bike, the Ride1Up Turris might be the best option for you. It comes with adjustable hydraulic forks that have up to 100mm of travel.
The bike also comes with a Comfort-style saddle and 27.5″x2.4″ Kenda tires which also help improve overall ride quality.
Weight Limit and Net Weight
The Ride1Up Turris is a sleekly-designed 55-pound hybrid e-bike, but don’t let its aesthetic look deceive you; This electric bike can support up to 300 lbs (136 kg) of weight.
That’s way higher than most e-bikes in its class and within its price range (There are very few suspension e-bikes available on the market that can support that much weight). So, if you’re a heavy rider who wants an electric bike that can double as a commuter e-bike and an eMTB, the Ride1Up Turris might just be the best option for you.
Hill-climbing Ability
The Ride1Up Turris is a decent hill climber. It might struggle to climb up very steep hills, but it performs just fine on moderately-steep inclines. Plus it comes with a 7-speed transmission, which allows riders to tweak the bike’s output according to their needs.
Turning, Control, and Balance
You’d be surprised to find out that the Ride1Up Turris actually comes with hydraulic disc brakes. Yes; you read that right! This budget electric bike comes with two 180mm hydraulic disc brakes.
These bad boys are efficient and responsive, providing riders with enough stopping power to bring the bike to an immediate halt. To complement the hydraulic system’s impressive power, Ride1Up has also installed motor inhibitors into the bike’s brake levers. These cut off power to the motor immediately they’re engaged.

Water Resistance
Like most Ride1Up electric bikes, the Turris is built to the IP65 water-resistance standard. This means that it is completely resistant to ingress from dust — and other particulates — and water projected from nozzles.
One of the biggest advantages of owning an electric bike with an IP65 water-resistance rating is that you can wash the bike with a pressure washer. Do this with care though as IP65 e-bikes are not built to withstand liquids projected from powerful nozzles.
If you ever decide to purchase a pressure washer for your Ride1Up Turris, make sure you go through its specifications before paying for it. Pressure washers that can generate more than 25 to 30 kPa (3.6 to 4.4 PSI) will not be suitable for your intended use.
Warranty and Shipping
Ride1Up only ships to countries in North America. The innovative e-bike company delivers products to addresses in the Continental United States for free but charges an additional $400 for shipments to Hawaii and Alaska. They also extend a limited 1-year warranty to all initial purchasers of their electric bikes.

Versatility
The Ride1Up Turris is built to handle various terrains and riding conditions. From a distance, the bike looks like a simple commuter/city electric bike. However, upon close inspection of its specifications, one can deduce that it is a high-performance e-bike.
Its powerful 750W motor makes it suitable for almost any riding condition; grueling or otherwise. Another feature that makes it adaptable to any situation is its long-travel forks and its tires. These guys will smoothen out the bumpiest of rides, improving overall ride quality.
Affordability
The Ride1Up Turris offers excellent value for money. It’s not the most budget-friendly electric bike on the market but you’re probably never going to find a Class 3 suspension e-bike that will beat its price.
