Best Off Road Electric Scooter 2023 [Updated]

Wolf Warrior 11 Plus

Some of the most important things to look out for in an off-road electric scooter include; power, improved ride quality, and range. The Wolf Warrior 11+ satisfies all 4 of these criteria.

This scooter comes with two 1200-Watt electric motors (one in each wheel) that generate up to 5400W of power. It can also reportedly flatten 30-degree inclines with ease thanks to its powerful drive system.

Wolf Warrior 11 Plus: Motor

To smoothen out bumpy rides, Kaabo equips the front end of the scooter with hydraulic forks and the rear end with coil springs. It also comes with 11” pneumatic tires which neutralize the effects of riding over small road irregularities.

Powering the entire unit is a 60V 35Ah Lithium-ion battery that guarantees up to 75 miles (120.7 km) of travel on a single charge. Some other notable features of the Wolf Warrior 11 Plus include; a dual braking system (hydraulic brakes and electronic brakes) and a pair of large fenders.

Pros

  • The e-scooter is equipped with various safety components. The Wolf Warrior 11 Plus comes pre-installed with two bright LED headlights (fitted in-between its stems), two forward-facing deck lights, and a fender-integrated taillight that also acts as its brake light.

It also comes with a loud horn.
  • It is a very sturdy electric scooter. Its split-stem design eliminates any form of speed wobbles, ensuring that the scooter remains stable even when traveling down steep hills.

The scooter can also support up to 450 lbs (204 kg) of weight and is suitable for riding under light rain.
  • It can travel at speeds exceeding 45 miles an hour. What's even more impressive about the Wolf Warrior 11 Plus is how quickly it accelerates. In a series of real-world tests conducted by ESG, the Wolf Warrior 11 Plus accelerated from 0 to 15 mph (24 kph) in under 2 seconds.

That’s pretty impressive if you ask me.

Cons

  • It is a pretty unwieldy electric scooter. Not only is the Wolf Warrior 11 Plus heavy (it weighs 101 lbs/48.5 kg), it measures up to 59” (149 cm) in length and 24.6” (62.4 cm) in width when folded. This makes carrying and/ storing it in your trunk a bit less practical.
  • Charging the scooter’s battery can take up to 17 hours. The manufacturer only includes one standard charger in the scooter’s packaging.

This charger is slow and can even extend charging time if not used under ideal conditions. Thankfully, the Wolf Warrior 11 Plus comes with two charging ports. So, you can purchase another standard charger and use it alongside the other one. This should cut charging time by up to 5/7 hours.

Hiboy Titan Pro Electric Scooter

The Hiboy Titan Pro is a massive upgrade from its predecessor; the Hiboy Titan. This model comes with a dual-drive system that puts out up to 2400 Watts (2 kW) of continuous power.

According to Hiboy, the Titan Pro’s powerful motors can generate enough torque to power the entire scooter up 35-degree inclines. Speed is another area where this e-scooter’s drive system excels. The Hiboy Titan Pro’s highest power setting propels the scooter to maximum speeds of 32 mph.

Hiboy Titan Pro Electric Scooter: Suspension Systems

Rides on rough terrain are guaranteed to be smooth on this beast. The scooter comes equipped with single-swingarm rubber suspension systems in the front and at the back. While these might not be as bouncy as the Wolf Warrior 11 Plus’, they do a good job in ensuring that riders enjoy smooth rides.

When fully charged, the Hiboy Titan Pro can cover up to 40 miles (64.4 km). This is all thanks to its 48V 17.5Ah non-detachable battery.

The e-scooter also comes with front and rear brakes as well as deck-integrated front & rear/brake lights

Pros

  • It’s an affordable high-powered electric scooter. The Hiboy Titan Pro costs just under $1500 per unit, which sounds like a pretty good deal considering that other e-scooters in its class cost between $1700 and $2500.
  • It has a very large deck (that thing measures up to two feet in length). There’s more than enough room for riders to rest both their feet on the Hiboy Titan Pro’s platform.
  • It comes with cruise control functionality.
  • It is the lightest electric scooter on this list (it weighs 61.7 lb/28.0 kg).

Cons

  • It is not well lighted. Except for the two front-facing lights integrated into its deck, the Hiboy Titan Pro doesn’t come with a bright source of light.

Users might need to purchase aftermarket lights to make the scooter suitable for riding in low-light conditions.
  • The Hiboy Titan Pro’s rear fender doesn’t provide enough protection from mud and dirt that may get thrown up in the air by the wheel.

Varla Eagle One

The Varla Eagle one is a great off-road electric scooter. This 71-pound machine comes equipped with dual 1000W hub motors, each of which delivers up to 1600 Watts of power at peak performance. Together, both motors put out a combined 3200W of power.

The motors also generate enough torque to climb steep hills (up to 30-degree inclines). To tame all that power, the manufacturers fitted a pair of hydraulic disc brakes to the scooter's wheels. They also installed an Anti-lock Braking System on the scooter to prevent its wheels from locking when the brakes are engaged for long periods.

The scooter also comes with front & rear suspension, 10 by 3” pneumatic tires, and a customizable, ultra-wide deck. One thing I also love about this electric scooter is its versatility.

Riders can choose between Eco, Turbo, Single, and Dual-motor modes, giving them more control over how much power they use. For instance, you can choose range over power by switching to Eco mode. Since it’s the lowest power setting, riders can cover up to 40 miles in this mode.

Pros

  • The scooter can attain top speeds of up to 40 miles an hour. If you're looking for a zippy off-road electric scooter, the Varla Eagle One might just be the best option for you.
  • Unlike the Hiboy Titan Pro, this scooter’s deck lights are actually pretty bright.
  • It comes with a pretty straightforward folding mechanism.

Cons

  • It also doesn't come with a dedicated headlight.

I know I mentioned earlier that its forward-facing deck lights are bright but it won't hurt to have a higher-mounted headlight that illuminates farther ahead of you.
  • Some customers complained about the company’s poor customer support and how their orders arrived later than was expected.
