What's the Warranty Like for E-bikes at Costco?

The only e-bikes we found on their website with warranty information included in their descriptions come from the same manufacturer; Jetson (the Jetson Bolt Pro and the Jetson Adventure). This doesn't mean that Costco does not offer warranties on other electric bikes listed on its website.

We visited Jetson's official website and found that even the manufacturer offers the same warranty on both bikes — a 1-year limited warranty. So, whether or not an e-bike's specifications includes information about its warranty period, it is safe to assume that the manufacturer's warranty applies here.

Plus, Costco hasn't included e-bikes among electronics that need to be returned within 90 days of their purchase, which in a way means customers might have to contact the manufacturer of an e-bike for warranty assistance.

Just for extra clarity on the subject, you can reach out to their customer support team. They should be able to give you more information on the company's warranty policies.

How Can I Return a Bike or E-bike Purchased in a Costco Warehouse?

In most cases, if you purchase an electric bike in a brick-and-mortar Costco store, you cannot return it online (Costco.com). All warehouse purchases can only be returned in-store.

You don't necessarily have to return the e-bike to the exact warehouse where it was purchased, any Costco warehouse will do. However, if you purchase an electric bike from the Costco online store, you can request for the bike to be picked up after it has been delivered.

Online shoppers can also return defective items to any Costco warehouse of their choosing. Some items, especially electronics, come with a 90-day return policy. If such items aren't returned within 90 days of their purchase, they will be rejected by Costco.

Can You Shop at Costco Without Being a Member?

Generally, you can purchase items from Costco's online store without a membership. However, this attracts a 5% surcharge over posted prices for members.

Non-members can also buy products in-store. To do this, the non-member will need a Costco gift card (which can only be purchased by a member).

Anyone can shop at a Costco warehouse with a Costco gift card. Even if you purchase items exceeding the dollar value of your gift card, a split-tender option allows non-members cover the rest of the payment with their debit or credit card (or any other form of payment).

So for example, you walk into a Costco warehouse with a $50 gift card and purchase items worth $100. Member or not, you'll be able to settle the outstanding amount with almost any payment solution.

Can I Shop Online for an E-bike From Costco?

Anyone can shop for electric bikes at Costco.com. You just get charged less if you own a membership card.

Is Costco Online Cheaper for Members?

Shopping on the Costco website is cheaper for members than it is for non-members. However, even as a member, you get charged more on some items when you shop online versus when you purchase the same products in-store.

These extra charges are added for the shipping and handling of customers' orders.

Does Costco Offer Payment?

Currently, Costco does not offer payment plans on any of their products. However, members can apply for Costco's co-branded credit card — the Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citibank — which allows you to defer payments on purchases.
